But I confess it is a sickness i don't mind having. If you have read my blog for any amount of time you already know that i just can not help myself i just get excited about pretty fabric.
I am sure Hobby Lobby is old news for many of you, but this weekend i went for the first time ever. The whole place was big and overwhelming...but the fabric department held a few treasures. I love these little vintage reproduction bundles.I was beyond excited to find this Ginger Blossom corduroy on the clearance rack for $2 a yard. I did not even know they made this in corduroy. It is so soft and so pretty. I bought all that they had left on the bolt....about 3-4 yards. I have a plan in mind. I have been wanting to make a bag with a friend, same one that i had been making a quilt with, and i think this will be just what i was looking for.
While the girls were looking at fabric, the boys went and found a new toy of their own. I think they said it was a slot car track. As you can see it was a hit...it kept them busy for a large part of our lazy sunday afternoon.
I have a few projects i am trying to work on for the house...curtain, pillow covers a small quilt topper. hopefully i can share later this week.
I love Hobby Lobby! That place can cause huge damage to my wallet if I'm not careful. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHL is the closest place to get fabric so I get most of my stuff there. However today I got some divine fabric from IKEA...I couldnt help myself...made me think of you.
ReplyDeleteyes, definitely and okay sickness to have, I have it, too! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Leslie, you and I can be sick together. There probably is some kind of rehab for this but I don't want to go!! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh if loving pretty fabric is a sickness I don't want the cure. LOL I love fabric too.
ReplyDeletelike the other post, i think there are many of us that have a sickness in craving yarn, fabric etc. for the people that don't understand, all the better, because there is more for the rest of us!
ReplyDeletejust let us see your creations with all that lovely fabric!
I can't wait to see and hear about all of your house projects. The fabric is lovely and the close up picture turned out really well. You can see the lines of the corduroy so nicely. I'll call you later!
ReplyDeleteI love Hobby Lobby, too. I have found a few bolts of Michael Miller and Alexander Henry fabrics mixed in with their other cottons and they are always 30% off.
ReplyDeleteMake sure to go to their website and most weeks you can get a 40% off any item coupon.
Great finds! If you look, they often have great treasures hiding in their rows of fabric. Even some of their house prints are really cute. I always get it on sale or with their coupon.
ReplyDeleteHL is a staple here! One of my favorite fabrics comes from them. I miss the train and car tracks on the floor stage! Now it's "I need gas in the car"......lol
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you're making now!
what?!! My hobby lobby never has stuff like that (or... I never find it) I do have that cute fabric w/ the big polka dots though! Great finds.
ReplyDeleteFirst time ever? How is that even possible? HObby Lobby at Christmas is dangerous.
ReplyDeleteThe slot car track is pretty fun too...
Nice fabrics! Sadly, they don't have any stores out this way. Maybe that's a good thing. :-)
ReplyDeletelove hobby lobby. And you scored big time! I love that polka dot fabric (especially for the back of a quilt).
ReplyDeleteThe only reason I sew is so that I can buy more fabric. Is that bad?
ReplyDeleteYou have a gift. Cant wait to see what you come up with...

ReplyDeleteI have that sickness, too! I was at hobby lobby the day I went geocaching with my son and i, too, saw some wonderful bargains on the $2 table - i was so tempted to just by the entire bolt for several of the fabrics! I also love using my 40% off coupons there!
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are so pretty. I have found that Hobby Lobby has recently been carrying very pretty fabrics.
ReplyDeleteLove the Ginger Blossom! I waited too long and they sold out at my HL. They also stock Kona Cotton, which is almost always 30% off.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Hobby Lobby had fabric...interesting. I thought it was only rockets and remote control airplanes...good to know. LOVE the fabric...you have such good taste!
