Nope, this is not a recipe blog today...this one is all about my sweet little boy that loves dirt, worms, and bugs of all kinds. He even tried to gift me with a squirming ant yesterday at the school playground. The weather was beautiful and the kids were having fun in the yard when he found this big worm and instantly became its hero. He scooped it up and held it, wore it, then he got a bucket, Avery helped with this part, and made him a new home of dirt. I think that poor worm is still out there this morning. I hope he made a home deep in that bucket, away from one very excited and dirty little man. Save yourself worm...it is every worm for himself in this yard!!!
LITTLE BOYS
Little boys come in all shapes and sizes
Shy and adventurous, full of surprises
With misshapen halos and mischievous grins
Small dirty faces, and sweet, sticky chins.
They'll keep you so busy and yet all the while
Nothing can brighten the world like their smile.
And no greater treasure has brought home more joy
Than a curious, active and lovable boy!

little boys & dirt... i love the post, dear friend. I love Mitchell leaning way over studying his (pink) bucket...
today would be a great day for coffee and Leslie... wish we could share the afternoon.
Leslie, Great job with the kids.Love the worm picture and Avery did such a great job on the teddy bears. I have had a hard time learning how to send a comment to you on the blog. Hope this works. Its great to see how the kids are growing and you are doing a great job as a home school teacher. My hat goes off to you.
Why oh why do boys like creatures so much? I love that their personalities show so early on. Very cute. Are you also doing worm composting? That would give him a whole playground of worms... ;)
Oh crap...the word verification is a killer this time...hope this goes through
hmmm, worm composting. I don't know. Then we would be really out numbered by those worms. He would love it but i think i would get too many nasty surprises in pockets at laundry time
hey, you should make dirt cake with Avery so she can play with "worms" too!
hey... good book list, dear friend... how are you liking Freakonomics? Also, Under the Banner of Heaven-- i have another friend reading that and I've been intriqued... let me know what you think.
