This week i decided i needed a fast and easy project(i am talking 24 hours from piecing to binding). I also wanted to have a go at some of my scraps!! A personal scrap challenge, if you will, which I found to be harder than i thought. I just can not help myself, i always want to make the fabrics match!
In comes husband....i asked him for help. "Please Hubby, go through my scraps and pile up the ones that look good." He sure did and even snuck in a challenge piece to see if i would use it...can you find the pirate ship?
This denim wonky star is my favorite one. I always see scrap quilts and am stunned at how great they look when nothing is the same color and everything is random.
Right down to the bindings i used scraps...these had been in my bucket all ready to go from previous finished projects.
Today i want to say thank you to the blog friends out there that are still reading my blog. I would love to send you one of these mug rugs as a thank you!!! Please just leave a comment to let me know you were here and i will choose a winner by the end of the week.

I'd love one! They look great, Leslie! Good idea to ask your hubby. I asked my girls to put together scrap piles for me, but they didn't go together too well. :-( I think he picked out some good combinations. Way to go! Sometimes a quick project is enough to the juices going again!
Lovely mug rugs! The colours are fantastic, your hubby did a good job.
I am scrap challenged, too. I like things to be matchy, matchy. I am trying to get out of that and just play!
You did a great job!
Those are so cute!
Love wonky and scrappy. I did spot the pirate ship.
I've never attempted anything with my scraps but mug rugs seem like a good option. I love the pirate ship addition!
always fun to ask the family for a little help, isn't it! LOL
love the mug rugs...sometimes it's the wonkiness, ugliness, mismatchedness of it all that makes it work....
love you always and enjoy being a blogging buddy forver!
Those are adorable!
Whoo! I have a stack of mug rugs in various states of completion - I'll trade you one!
Your mug rugs look great and very scrappy. I also have good intentions when it comes to a scrappy project then my OCD kicks in and I have to make all the fabrics match. Good idea to ask your hubby for help. I'll have to ask mine next time. :)
Lovely little mug rugs! Yes I also have to coordinate my scraps even when making something that is meant to look scrappy. Still looking for that pirate ship!
Does my comment count??? I want one. The star one is my favorite too!
Miss you!
Those turned out great!
Leslie, these are too cute! I love scrappy projects, especially when they are quick. :)
I love that Chris helped pick out the fabrics - even the pirate ship! And I agree that scrappy is so hard, but it looks awesome when done. I especially like the star one, too.
All made from scraps - super bonus!
Found the pirate ship! These look a whole lot better than than my old pot holders that I use. I like the star and the mostly denim one. Something about that one that caught my eye.
Oh, good job Chris!!!!
Love scraps. The mug rugs look great! I do enjoy reading your blog. :)
I love these! My scraps are out of control, I'm planning a fight back!!
Lovely! I need to attack my scrap boxes also. Thank you for wanting to share, I would love one of them!
I love the challenge not to make anything match. It is a challenge! I love what you did with your scraps and am inspired!

Really like these!
oooh so pretty! Sorry I missed it. :)
No need to enter me into anything - I'm a new reader. But I just wanted to pop in on the comments here and say that those little mug rugs are so cute. In fact, I think they'd be adorable hung up in a little grouping on the wall!
i love that solid star hiding among the patchwork!
