Family Vintage

Look what my Gram gave me. While we were visiting this weekend she came down the hall with a little something folded up in her hand. My mom got excited, i think she thought it was for her, and then realized that it was probably for me. Were you a little bummed mom? I jumped and squealed when i saw a hint of vintage something in her hand, because i did not know what it was yet. I grabbed her and hugged her. I think she might have laughed at me. If i had found this apron in a vintage shop somewhere i would have fallen in love but to get it from the hands of my Gram made it even better. My aunt was there and said she remembered it....so it must have been something she used during the holidays. I probably should have found out the whole story but i was way too excited. Cover your ears if you love christmas...but it is not my favorite holiday. My family has names for me. But this...this could make it way more fun!!! Thanks Gram!!!!

It's really good to "visit" with you today... I've been out of touch, but it was very soul-satisfying to see some bits and pieces of your family and life... I love you, dear friend... I am off to try and update my blog now, too.

It's darling---and so much more special because it is handed down!!

I was excited but I knew it was for you! Leslie forgot to mention that she put it right on and wore it for quite a while!

way cool Leslie xxx Christmas is just another day, it's true. but any opportunity to tell someone you love them makes it worth while, don't you think??

Wow, what a special gift. Definitely something to make the holidays brighter.

My grandma gave me a bunch of her holiday aprons a while ago and I love them. I packed them away and put them into storage and when I move they will be the first I unpack (who says I can't put on a red and green apron in september?)

how fun! Love the fabric. I remember all my mom's old aprons too! I need to get around to making me an apron sometime. I read something that suggested making an impromptu apron from a valence you're not using and threading a ribbon thru the pocket. But that just wouldn't be as much fun as making one now would it ;)

How fun--hope this makes you like Christmas more. I still don't get that one... :)
