i am in love with how soft and how amazing the heather ross mendocino fabrics are. Unlike any other fabric i have ever put my hands on.
I quilted this quilt in a variety of ways...trying to make it as carefree as the fish and mermaids feel when you look at them. This required a little letting go on my part, but in the end i was so pleased. I made waves in some strips...a single wavy line in others...this oval shape that crosses back and forth...and some straight lines. Yup, a little bit of everything.
I just need to get a label on it and then i can send it off to its new little owner. I plan to do this in German since that is where she lives. however i do not speak German so i have to find a translator.

I LOVE IT! Isn't Mendocino just perfect??
Oh, how I love this! The quilting really fits the mood of the fabric. I have some saved up and haven't cut into it yet, but this is making me want to get started.
Very nice! I love how you quilted it!
I love that quilting! Just like the movement of the water. Great finish!
Unlike any other fabric you've ever put your hands on is quite a compliment coming from you. Beautiful quilt
What a good snuggie !
Congrats on letting the quilt do the talking ! Worked out perfectly !
Beautiful quilt. Love the wavy quilting! Go, Leslie, with your spontaneous self!!
so so so pretty, and I love how you did the quilting! I'm trying my best to finish up the quilt I'm making now with some of the same heather ross fabrics, and yes, they are so soft!
I love it. I'm definitely going to go narrower with my next stripey quilt.
Ooh I love the quilting you did on it. And I really like the design of the quilt itself - it shows off the fabrics so well.
Beautiful! Good job being brave with the quilting. It looks so wonderful!
gorgeous! the horizontal strips work perfectly with these prints. she's one lucky girl!
I love the variety in the quilting! It adds that perfect something to a simple design!
simply lovely...sew tempting to buy some of this fabric and just leave it lying around the house to look at and touch! LOL
danke!
Hi Leslie,
I can help you with the translation, just send me the text!
Cheers,
Christine
The quilt is very pretty, and I am sure that the recipient will love it = how could they not???
You were the very first person - and only person so far to make a comment on my blog. It's soooo exciting to have a comment, so I thought I would come back and comment again on yours (and I am not just saying your quilt is pretty because of this - I mean it!!) : ) Have a great day.
it has turned out so nice! I know they will love it!
I love how your quilt turns out! Did you use the same fabric for the backing. I am still working on my backing.
Love your colors~
Oh I love that quilt. The design is so simple that it showcases the fabrics beautifully.
ooooh... it does look womderful! I love the pink fabrics, too!
LOVE THIS!!!!!!! ♥
I love this! It is the perfect way to use the mermaids. It bothers me when they get cut up too small. The need to be free to swim! And who needs random parts floating around?!? I love your thoughtful quilting. Perfect! : )
This is a gorgeous quilt...and my all-time favorite fabric line! I am in the process of completing two "mermaid" quilts that I can't wait to have finished!
This is such a sweet quilt, Leslie! You know, it was probably my inspiration without even knowing it. I tend to do that, trawl the blogs to death and get inspired like crazy, then later on down the road, put the idea to work and forget where exactly I saw it...if it was one idea in particular, or a few ideas melted together! I wish I would have remembered it was here, because that wave quilting would have been SO MUCH better!!! Brilliant!
