I think this is my favorite picture from the zoo. All the kids got together for a photo op on this fabulous carved bird, and they all look so cute!!
There was a great bird area at the zoo where we got to see several birds we had never seen before. One of those os this scarlet ibis. The picture does not do it justice because it was much more vibrant in person.
This flamingo was beautiful. He kept fluffing up his pretty pink feathers, i guess so we could see how big and important he was.

I'll comment here for the VA highlights. Looks like fun, fun, fun was had by all!! I still don't know who the extra child is on the statue...a friend of Grants?
