I love quilting, it is addictive really. But one of the things i miss is having someone to quilt with. Isn't that the heart of quilting? Women have not had quilting bee's and quilting circles for ages for nothing. Right? I was lucky to meet another lady who lives nearby a few weeks ago and she feels just the same about quilting. Right away we decided to work on something together.
Yesterday was our first sewing day and it was so much fun. We had chosen a pattern and each of us are using a different moda jelly roll. Hers is Neptune by Tula Pink and mine is Wonderland by Momo.
I can not wait to see how they turn out. I love how different two quilts can be, despite using the same pattern. Hopefully we both make some more progress that i can share next week!
***I wanted to add to this, since a few of you asked that i am using a pattern called Strip this Quilt, by Green Fairy Quilts. I could not resist...and i can not wait to see how our two quilts turn out....***

How lucky to find somebody! I love both of those lines - can't wait to see what the two quilts look like. What pattern are you doing?
I know exactly how you feel. I just joined a Modern Quilt Guild in LA and I'm so excited for our first meeting!
And I LOVE the MOMO...what is the pattern called you are using? It's looks very cool!
BTW - Avery is an awesome name, you just thought of it 6 years before me!
Oh my sister would love this post too~ Will pass it on!
Oh you're so lucky. I've been searching for someone near by to quilt with, but with no luck. I'll be excited to see what you guys come up with :)
Oh, I'd love to find a quilting buddy! It is a solatary hobby...but I always get to share the end product with someone (I give most of my quilts away). It would be nice to share the process though. Have fun!
that is awesome! I am so happy you have someone to quilt with! If we lived close I would make you teach me. :O)
You're so lucky!! I miss having crafty friends around. I was telling my husband about how hard it is to find a good, pure gray, that it either has blue undertones, or brown, or... I think I actually saw the moment where his eyes glazed! I guess that's where the blog friends come in, right? Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment! I get so excited when I get a note! And your quilt is looking gorgeous. I love Wonderland *almost* as much as Neptune. :-)
How fun and so pretty. I really, really wish I loved to quilt. Yay for quilting friends! :)
