We discovered after the very first load that our clothes were not only clean but they were softer, and i don't use any fabric softener ever....it was just the wonderful result of the detergent. So far i have no complaints...it really does clean and it lasts a long time and it is inexpensive besides. There is little to no scent, which i don't mind. My mother has been converted and says the same, things get clean and are softer. And my sister was also planning on making some of her own.
The kids love helping...Avery said it was like prairie day when they had to make their own soap. She even asked if we could make our own shampoo...i am going to look into that but am not sure. So, Kim when are you going to make yourself a batch!!!???

Just wanted to wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sis. Since I can't comment on facebook cause you don't have one. maybe you should convert... come on Dad even made one this weekend.
Got to get a bucket so I can make this... maybe next week.
Happy Birthday!!!
We make our own as well. Its time to make some more around here. This post is a good reminder. Great photos of the kids:)
I think I'll try the dry powder detergent next.
1/2 an hour to make detergent...oh how I wish we lived closer so I could borrow yours.
Ummm...happy birthday birthday girl!
did you get our phone call? Elijah was singing to you before we got to the answering machine and was a little shy when it was time.
Hey can I use the detergent with a HE frontloader?
the lady i got the initial recipe uses hers in a HE washer...and my sister has also used it. i think the main issue is sudsing. with this i get no bubbles. did that really answer that question?
yes...the suds are the problem with HE's...too many and it will break the machine. I will have to try it then! Thanks!
How about selling that stuff for lazy people like me!! hehehe I'd buy it. The child labor dept. might not like it though!
Cheers! (no pun intended!!)
Hey I've been wanting to try this for a while since I saw it on the Duggar show. How much do you use per load. And you said it doesn't suds, but it does get stuff clean right? Since everyone else said it yesterday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY? You should have told me!!! Have a great day! I'm off to gymnastics!
Happy Belated Bday! I didn't know :( Ugh, I went to the qult shop in town for the first time yesterday. Big mistake. I wanted everything! Anyway, I plan on trying this out when we're out of what I have. I wonder if I could add essential oils to it to give it a scent & some essential oil anti-germ "forcefield" properties.
