Sew and Tell...brought to you by Nicey Jane!

I did it!! i made the flimsy top for the babies quilt(if it is a girl) last night in time to share with all of you. I knew that nicey jane was the way i was going to go with fabric right away when i was thinking about making these quilts...but i just did not know what pattern i wanted to use. I hate cutting into something before i am really sure about what i want to do. But this week the inspiration came from Emily, who was inspired by this Oh Fransson pattern, and i knew it was just the right pattern.

I tossed around what fabric solid to set it with...waffling between white and the osnaburg, which is a nice nobbly linen look. Right now i am loving how they look together. The white seemed a little too bright. Hopefully i will feel the same after it gets a washing. My big plan is to get the back pieced and the whole thing basted at the very least today. I am crossing my fingers!

i had a very eager quilt holder....see her current fashion statement...mismatched socks, all of the time. I honestly do do the laundry, she just seems to like her socks this way! Score one for individuality!

**see what everyone else made over at Amylouwho's and send them a little comment love for their hard work!!**

Ooh, this is pretty, and such a nice change from ALL PINK for a little girl babykins !

I have one set of squares from Nicey Jane, and am having so much trouble even THINKING about using them ! I love the whole feel of that collection, like old sheets.

I also have been pining for some of the Spring Fever charm squares, and now that I see a quilt made up in them, I know that they would go perfectly with the "Splash" and "Happy" charm squares that I already have. Hmmmmmmm........where can I dig up JUST enough to send for those charm square.........off to check the couch cushions !

It's very pretty! I love that lineny fabric. Good choice!

My girls wear mismatched socks every day too. It's to the point where they mix them up right out of the laundry-- Claire balls one sock in another and calls it "mystery socks" because she doesn't know which one she'll find inside. Crazy kids ;)

LOVE LOVE the Nicey Jane, especially for a girl's quilt in that fabulous green. And the linen look is perfect - it gets even better after it's quilted and washed. I love the drape and texture.

I think whatever pattern you chose these fabrics would look good. I really like the solid you've used, makes these fabrics 'pop'. So... quilted and bound by next friday??

Are you secretly having twins and not telling us? ;)

So what will you do with the extra quilts when the baby arrives?

Beautiful as always.

I love love love this quilt top! Nicey Jane is perfect for it, and I love that you veered from the overused pink motif for your (maybe) little girl!! Isn't the pattern so cute and easy? Can't wait to see it all finished!
