One of the things i did get done for Mitchie's birthday was his birthday pirate shirt. I have been meaning to do this for sometime. I had this shirt that he got paint on at school and i wanted to cover said paint with a stencil/design of some sort. In very Leslie fashion i waited until the day before his birthday to make this when i have had all the stuff for months. What can i say, i guess i work better under pressure.
I used the ever popular freezer paper stenciling method. Take the freezer paper, draw and cut your design out with a exacto knife. Iron the freezer paper on to the shirt and stencil with fabric paint. I found this paint at Joann's. i got green since the paint stain i was trying to cover was green. perfect.
Here it is in action. The finished product. He was very excited to have it for his birthday outfit along with some pirate map pants i had made him a while ago. He was so excited in fact that he turned down the very scary pirate pants i stayed up late to make him last night. Oh well. I am just glad the shirt was a hit. I think it helped that it was a muscle shirt and he thought that he was "tool"(cool).
