there certainly are perks to doing homeschool, like we can do school in our jammies!!! Avery really wanted this picture to be in her jammies, i said she should wear her clothes but she insisted. And the Mitch had his first day back to his preschool at Chris' college. He loves it there, all they do is play all day. And everyone loves him, they think he is a riot!! Every time i go through the door to pick him up someone has a story about how funny he was that day. I am glad they had a good first day...
this is our school table. The kids are working on an art project after we had finished lessons. I think every book we use and more is lying around on the table. It is a disaster! What a mess...and honestly that is just how i feel at the start of this school year. This year i feel more scattered, overwhelmed and unprepared than i did last year. Last year we did just the basics, this year we have added many more subjects and i feel like it is going to take some time to get our groove back. It has been a hard week to start school with birthdays(me and Mitch) and meetings with our realtor to get the house on the market, and getting the house ready, but i did not feel like we could wait much longer. Maybe next week things will settle down.

Well, I can see Avery's teeth are coming in. Is she ready to lose anymore soon? Rolling out of bed, jammies and messy hair. Love it! The look on Mitch's face is priceless to me. It looks like he's thinking about what mischief he can get into!! Don't stress about school Leslie. It will fall into place in a week or two. I remember that feeling every school year as it started.
They look excited! I'm sure they will learn lots this year, and you will do GREAT! You did last year... :)
I am so envious of the PJs. After a full day and evening in work clothes, I was so excited to put mine on. I wish I could wear mine to work. Lucky kiddo.
The first week or two is always the "trial run." You see what works and what doesn't and you adjust from there. We're doing the same thing.
ditto....
But I can understand the added chaos of your life about to be turned upside down puts added pressure on you. I hope that the house sells quickly so that you can get settled somewhere else and really get into the routine of things. It is really hard to have a routine when you have to be "perfect" because the house is going to be shown at any time. Hang in there, girl!
Leslie
i think i cried every day our first week of school(i CAN'T do it!)...and now on week three i feel so comfortable(i love homeschooling!) you'll find the groove soon, and you guys have a lot going on...hang in there!
Tell me again, which unit are you doing? I see Vol. 1 on the chair!
