Castles in DC?
the pre-inaguration CNN coverage was on. I did not push it on the kids but i thought if it was on they might absorb some of what was going on. Mitchell was looking at the crowds of people as the camera's panned the mall and capitol, he saw the white house and started jumping up and down, so excited..."i saw Barack Obama's castle!!! I saw Barack Obama's castle!!!" He is so adorable. We are going to have to take him to see Obama's castle next time we visit Aunt Colleen in DC.

If only I could take him into the castle. Perhaps he'd like to visit the capitol?
there are several cool "castles" in DC... some of those smithsonian buildings are as magnificent as the collections they hold. I'm dreaming of a DC trip around dividend time...
It was splendid, wasn't it? I keep waiting for my kids to say, "Uh, Mom, we only live an hour from there...so why have we never visited?" Maybe the cherry blossoms this year. For Pete's sake, dh workes there often and I worked there before having children. It's pathetic. Lol.
oh man, i love kid quotes like this!! perfect!
Leslie, if you guys are into Ethiopian food, make sure you check that out while you're there! I miss it! And...I'd love to see photos/read comments of Avery and Mitchell upon trying it.
