Washing Up Day

this is my favorite view of the wash... from upstairs. It reminds me of a patchwork quilt square. The shape and all the random colors. To me it looks pretty and it is satisfying to know that it is done and that the sun did the work for me, and we saved a little energy today. It would probably be prettier with quilts and sheets and blankets hanging out there, but hey, you have to wash your clothes too!

Laundry is my favorite thing ever...you are so lucky to have outdoor space to dry it!

In the old days, ladies would hang their unmentionables in the inside of the clothesline, then regular clothes and finish with the sheets around the outside so the neighbors couldn't see what was in the middle.

that looks really cool and I can see how it would remind you of a patchwork quilt
