Today is...

...my birthday! And thank goodness that my very nice husband can cook. He made me breakfast, jam scones. My last package of Original Fair scones from Washington. Yummy! There were presents and a nice cup of tea. My sweet babies got me a laptop bag for any travels....and my husband got me the gorgeous, so fantastic, beautiful, can't wait to use, Kitchenaid hand mixer in the most wonderful shade of green apple green. It matches my stand mixer. What am i going to make first?
And for dessert, which we had with lunch, he made me crunchy crust blueberry swirl pie! Look familiar mom? He did a great job since it was certainly not the simple request for browines or cupcakes that he thought he was going to get. After a leisurely afternoon while the kids napped we all went to dinner at the Melting Pot. The kids loved it, we loved it, it was great. It was a nice birthday, thanks family.

Well, I'm impressed with Chris' culinary skills. The pie sure does look familiar. I haven't made it in years. Did he do the original crust? I couldn't tell by the picture. Very nice. I checked out the links for the mixer and the restaurant too. Great idea--fondue.

I figured out the answer to my question about the crust. All I had to do was enlarge the picture. I see it was the original. Yummy!!

Happy (late) birthday. Sounds like you have a wonderful husband. My birthday is in a few days and I'm missing my husband who is currently serving in Iraq.
