My Treasures

Here you go sister...you asked! I have been meaning to share these since i got back from Virginia. These were my two old junk treasures.
This old cupboard door was in the yard of the pink polka dot antique barn. I loved the detail and the color. It is hard to see it in this picture but it is a really pretty robins egg, bluey gray color. How was that for a description!
I am planning on hanging these two weathered, worn, green and old picket's together on my wall. I have a big double slider to the backyard that needs some sprucing up. I am going to include that old rusted lock face in the hanging somehow. I knew i had to have them as soon as i saw them. I think now i am wishing i had more. She called them picket's(who i bought them from) but they look more to me like they were part of a porch railing. I love them!

Love the cupboard door. I'm on the hunt for one of those. I saw one in a NZ magazine, spray painted red, with old keys hanging on it. Looked so cool. Mind you, yours looks so good that it would be a shame to do anything to it!

What will you do with the lovely shelf?

love them all. I would've brought that pink polka dot silo home with me if I had been there :) I have been looking for an old door to make a headboard out of! When I first saw those 'pickets' before I read what they were I thought they were legs to a bench... but I don't know how big they are, so maybe a very small bench :)

I like the color of the "pickets" against your wall. I think they'll look great.
It's too bad the color of your door didn't come out clearly. For a moment I thought that you'd already painted it.

i love your finds! wish i could have gone to the sale. i was thinking if you could put them in the space horizontally, (putting the top flat bits together) you could "attach" them together with the iron bit. dont know if that makes any sense, or if you would even want to do them longways.....
they do look great against that wall color
