Book of Days

I know that i have mentioned the book of days a few posts ago...we have really been enjoying it. We have not done all of January's activities yet but we have a few more days, right? One of the activities was bird watching and recording what you see in your yard. We had a sick day from school today so things were pretty laid back. It has been a quiet school week anyway. Right after lunch Avery initiated this project. What you can not see is the binoculars on the table with them. They both were watching the Juncos in our yard and began drawing....using almost every bird book we had as a reference. It was a nice time together, and they were both so proud of their drawings. It is fun to see Avery getting better and more detailed at what she draws, and Mitchie's are just plain cute! Everything is big round circles.

Bring that book with you when you come to visit. I'd like to look at it. For now, I'll go over to the website.

I almost flunked coloring in kindergarten...and life just got harder from there.

Looks like it was a fun sick day! Or as fun as they come. The birds in NY are the best!

Who was sick? We have a lot of juncos showing up in the backyard.

sounds like a fun book... at least Avery & Mitchell make it look fun! You'd better still be homeschooling (and blogging about it) in a few years b/c I plan to steal all your ideas for Joshua & Zoe :) I so lazy.

Leslie, I learned from crazymomquilts.blogspot.com. She is a great teacher. As of a year ago I NEVER thought I would do such a thing. My mom sewed and I thought it was just as easy to let her do it.:) She doesn't quilt but she does LOTS of other things so I still thought let my mom do it. I saw a quilt of crazymoms and fell in love with the fabric she asked me if I'd like to learn and it's been downhill since.:) You look like you have your hands full and that you have a very creative side!! So I'm sure your'll try your hand at it soon enough! I visited NY with my mom and sister for the first time last May and LOVED it! Hope you have a great day. Sorry this is so long.:) heather
