Little Girl Heaven

It is unfortunate that i do not have more pictures from our destination yesterday, but we were all so taken with everything that i kind of forgot to take out the camera...i hate it when that happens. The store was three stories of total thrill and wonder. When Aunt Colleen told Avery that we were going to the American Girl Store she was so excited. These are pictures of her face as we told her right there on the street on the way there.
We had kept this trip a secret from Avery nearly until it happened...and even though she knew we were going to NYC, she did not know why. It all began way back in April when Aunt Colleen created a monster by sending Avery her first American Girl, Kit for her birthday. Since then she has been in love...she even saved all her recycling money to buy Ruthie, Kit's best friend, for herself.
Avery and Julia(cousin) had loads and loads of fun. Each were allowed to choose three outfits for their girls and surprisingly it was not that hard for them. I thought that it was going to end in tears of indecision for Avery but she knew within minutes of walking in just what she wanted.
We were also very excited to get a table at the American Girl cafe there at the store. You are supposed to make reservations well in advance but we went right in. It was not part of our plan...really we were just going to have a hot dog on the street(the only way you would get me to agree to eating a hot dog)...and if anyone is planning to go(Deb) you should do the lunch as well. It was a lot of fun, and a really special extra for the girls. The food was good too. Just remember to bring your American Girl if you have one...it makes it lots more fun. You can get hair done at the salon and even ear piercing for your doll.
