Mitchell "the bug man" Morrell caught another critter. This time he found a wooly bear caterpillar, affectionately named Wooly, what else? I think there were a few tears about leaving him outside for the night so i let him bring him in...but that turned into wanting to take it out of the container and hold him and before i knew it he was crawling all over the table.
we got out the magnifying glass for further investigation and the kids loved it. It appeared that Wooly even wanted to do some school with us.
We now are raising this wooly bear as our own...taking care of him while he hibernates for the winter.... and in the spring he will turn into a Isabella Tiger Moth. Hopefully he makes it. Mitch really desperately wants to take him out and shake him, i mean hold him.

I love your very inquisitive caterpillar.
isnt it said the more black on a woolly bear then the harder the winter? Or am I getting it wrong?
How's Wooly doing tonight? Is he going to school Wednesday?
"take him out and shake him, I mean hold him"... that made me giggle, dear friend. And I am in deep admiration that you are okay with something black and fuzzy crawling around your home. The pictures are very fascinating to me because I've never seen anything like Wooly, but these pictures are as close as I'd like to be. You are definitely raising cool kids.
